i began working on the album in febuary 2023

weaving and embroidering a network of 2 328 voice notes from my phone on to my small ipad

creating sounds inspired by how the body functions

i found a story :

a humans first day

since i had never released an album, i found it fitting to start the story from the beginning, like how many religious texts work

the album had a working title of ‘the first day’

a baby comes into the world and cries, i’ll use just the voice

a baby doesn’t know how to function but the body does

let it be about how the body functions, on both a biological and spiritual plane

in the first track: stirring hums gently wake the listener, “kahlt kahlt” quietly whispers passed you - an entity gifting you a name

inclining breaths of a mother panting from outside the womb, build up tensions that finally break into the over exposure of real life - a hospital room

arriving at your name “kahlt” - phonetically spelt out, like the first words we learn - ma ma , da da - now “kah ah hah el tah” punching in chorus like a inked stamp hitting a birth certificate 

i feel the first track of an album is so important, it shows you how to engage with the other songs - this one delivers you into the world, from one body into your own
